Can being too long at the beach really mean serious medical conditions?

Sadly, there were many cases of skin cancer because of improper care and a lack of self-discipline. You should make sure that if you and your family or friends go to the beach and want to have some fun in the sun, that you stay protected.

Consider the following tips:

• Make sure that you have sun-block

• If you are traveling with children, try purchasing sun-block with a higher SPF

• One application of sun-block won't really help for the whole day, so keep re-applying

• Try to stay out of the sun

• If you do get burned, visit a doctor and ask for a prescription

• If you want to get a tan, consider other tan-substitutes, such as self-tanners, lotions, etc...

• Try a substitute to the beach

• If the day is too hot, try planning another day for the beach

• Make sure that you always pack a sun umbrella

• If you are going to the beach, do not stay out there for too long

• Consult a doctor before making any decisions

• If you are planning on going to a trip to Palm Springs when it is burning outside, make sure that you get a proper analysis of your condition with the sun

• Some people are more resistant to the ultraviolet rays than others, so make sure that you know how your skin will react

Make sure that you plan out the perfect day at the beach - even if that means packing way more than you can carry. You can never be too protected, and that is key when you have a family and want to go somewhere with them on vacation. Tell these things to family and friends in order for them to avoid becoming victims of our hottest friend - the sun.
