Reasons why too many Americans don't have Health Insurance

There are more than 47 million Americans who are living without health insurance. And contrary to popular belief, many of these people are from working families and have some expendable income at the end of each month. The question is: how can this problem be taken care of? While there are many potential solutions, it is difficult to say which one will work out the best. To go along with this, it seems as if everybody has their own idea on how to find a solution.

Why do so many people live without health insurance? One of the main reasons is the cost. Those who are not earning a lot of money cannot afford to purchase a health insurance policy for them and their family. On the other side of things, those who do earn a decent wage do not want to spend their excess cash on insurance. Sure, they know they need it, but there is no law saying that they must purchase coverage.

Many others are doing without health insurance because they have found themselves unemployed. This is a huge problem in the United States, and with the economy worsening, things could continue to slide before they change and get better. Being unemployed is difficult enough, but this situation coupled with no health insurance can be next to unbearable. Unfortunately, this is a problem that millions of people have to deal with.

All in all, there are many reasons as to why millions of Americans are living without health insurance. There is no denying that it can be difficult to find affordable coverage. But with that being said, living without health insurance is never the answer. Hopefully changes will be made in the near future that will cut into the large amount of uninsured Americans.
