Sometimes you should Say No to more Auto Insurance

Are you thinking about buying more auto insurance? Is this something that your auto insurance company is pushing for? If so, you may want to take their advice and move forward. But at the same time, you want to think twice before you make any changes to your coverage. Remember, there is nothing wrong with having a lot of auto insurance coverage but there can come a time when you should simply say no.

For instance, if you have an old car you should never let anybody talk you into carrying a lot of coverage. You don't need as much as you would if you were driving a new vehicle. If you keep your coverage at the highest level on an old car you are doing nothing more than wasting money. And that is never a good idea.

You should also say no to low deductibles if you are trying to save money. One of the quickest ways to lower your premium is to raise your deductible, both collision and comprehensive. This means that you will owe more out of your pocket if you need to file a claim for repairs, but besides that you will be saving each month. It may sound silly, but just say no to low deductibles unless you can comfortably afford paying more each month.

It is important to have good auto insurance. You should always have coverage, and it should fit your budget. If you are being pressured to buy more you should think about what is being offered, and then consider the pros and cons. There are times when you will be much better off saying "thanks but no thanks' to more auto insurance. Simply put, more is not always better. When it comes to auto insurance, more can often times mean more money as well.
