Ironically, What a Way to Go…..
Life insurance might not be your initial thought when you buy your first insurance policy, but then again, maybe it should be.
While most people want to live a long and prosperous life, there are sometimes instances where death sneaks up on you. If that’s the case, let’s hope you have a good life insurance policy in place to protect the ones you love.
Now back to the part where death can sneak up on you. It seems unfortunately like there are always some people no matter how hard they try who cannot escape death’s grip on them.
As you ponder what life insurance policy might be for you, take a look at some of these untimely deaths:
Jim Fixx – A runner, Fixx preached the benefits of running and how it could increase the human lifespan. The author of the 1977 bestseller “The Complete Book of Running,” Fixx ironically dropped dead from a heart attack while out for a run.
Michael Anderson – A murder convict, Anderson was sentenced in 1983 to die in the electric chair. After having his sentence reversed, Anderson, who convinced a jury that he did not deserve to die, met a fate not many would want. One day at home, Anderson was attempting to repair his television while sitting on a metal toilet. Unfortunately for Anderson things didn’t turn out the way he wanted. Anderson was electrocuted while attempting to repair the television.
Hans Steininger – The man was noted in history for having the longest beard, which measured 4.5 feet. As it turns out, the notoriety that Steininger got with having such a feat would later come back to haunt him. Steininger was trying to escape a fire and forgot to roll up the beard prior to running. Steininger accidentally tripped over the beard, broke his neck and died on the scene.
Bobby Leach – A daredevil, Leach was not afraid to attempt different feats, including going over Niagara Falls in a barrel. Having survived his plunge in the Falls (second person in history to go over NF), you would think Leach could survive anything; wrong. Leach died from complications due to gangrene and an amputated leg. How did he get those problems in the first place? Leach injured his leg when he tripped on a banana peel.
Jerome Moody – Most lifeguards do not die by drowning. Then there was this poor man. A lifeguard, Moody drowned during a party for New Orleans lifeguards. And what was the theme of the party? The event was being held to celebrate the first drowning-free swimming season in recorded history in the New Orleans area.
